NOW can we forget the private school vouchers and get back to work on our public schools?
Excerpt:

WASHINGTON – Low-income students who attend urban public high schools generally do just as well as private-school students with similar backgrounds, according to a study being released Wednesday.

Students at independent private schools and most parochial schools scored the same on 12th-grade achievement tests in core academic subjects as those in traditional public high schools when income and other family characteristics were taken into account, according to the study by the nonpartisan Center on Education Policy.

The real question is:

Instead of providing school vouchers for private schools, causing public school to lose even more funding: Can we forget the voucher program altogether, since the private schools do not generate academic improvement?

I am anyway for public schools. Only have had excellent experience with American public schools, ……………………….but I know it all depends what neighborhood you live in….and i guess we must have lived in neighborhoods where teachers & parents were highly involved.

what a worthless study. So kids in higher median income ranges perform on par in public schools with kids in higher median income rangers in private schools. SHOCKER!

This proves to me, that its not the teachers, schools, system, matieral, etc. ITS THE PARENTS. End of story.

dont let them confuse the issue, pay attention to the ball (problem).
