Or, why is it so horrible for a teacher to want to teach in one as opposed to state/public schools? What is so magical about the public school system?

Nothing – not sure where you are from but the state school system here is not all that great. If one has the money to pay for a better education for your child, then there is nothing wrong with doing so.

it’s not, people who think these things are either resentful that they cannot send their children to private schools or have had some bad experience with the system. the rivalry between public and private is ridiculous. there is nothing magical about public education.

because it looks like you dont want to have the kids around.

teachers that teach there dont have to look after trouble makers so are seen as having a cushty ride by ones who do (and they are also paid more)

Sending your kids to a private school usually is because parents feel that there is a better chance that your child will receive a good education. The reasons that teachers are there is a totally different reason…usually it’s because they can’t deal with the kids in the public school system. Some do it because they don’t want to die. Some teachers go into private school because if they teach there…their kids get a free ride. It’s a choice. They decide to make less money over death. As someone who spent 12 years in the public school system…there is nothing magical or special about it. It is what it is.

Theres nothing evil

I was in a private catholic school for 9 years. while I may have bucked the religious aspect, years later upon introspection, I’m glad i went.

I had a bit of an educational lead over some of the others when i finally made the transition to a public school. I feel it gave me a good advantage and taught me more discipline then most would get at a public school.

But like anything, you get out of it what you put into it. Private schools don’t work miracles. but I wholly encourage them.

Well it’s not evil, some people just feel more comfortable in a private/independent school as appose to a public school. Some might find public schools better because they don’t inforce special uniforms on their students. Though some might like Private/independent schools better because they are cleaner, larger, and can afford much more supplies then public schools can.
